Minister of State-owned Enterprises Rini Soemarno has urged state companies to boost local economies. Regional growth is crucial and can be used as an indicator of national economic growth.
To that end, Rini is calling on local communities to take an active role in the program. "The huge job of building the nation and making it prosperous cannot be shouldered by the government alone," she said in an official statement, Friday (29/7).
She said that the public cannot just sit back and wait for prosperity to happen. "We must constantly work hard and work together to achieve it," she said. (Read: Inflation Under Control, Urban PovertyDown, Rural Poverty Up).
