State-owned power company PLN is supporting the tourism potential of North Sumatra's Lake Toba by increasing electricity supply to nearby areas.

The main positive impact expected is an increase in tourist arrivals, which will improve the socio-economic conditions of the local community. "The availability of electricity is important to attract investors and tourists," Made said in an official statement, Monday, 22 August.

Today, Lake Toba gets electricity from three substations in Siantar, Porsea, and Tele. PLN is also building a transmitter and a substation in Pangururan.
